Loom and Underseal

Disconnected the rear loom and bought it forward through the cabin, disconnected door light switch and interior light, collected loom up under the dash, this clears away the wiring from the areas i need to weld first.

Non standard electronic flasher, will replace with correct item

Onto the worst part of the rebuild, stripping off old underseal, if i do a small area on a regular basis hopefully it wont be quite so painful! I had considered blasting or chemical stripping but this would involve stripping the entire car in one go, and i would rather do repair work in sections keeping the rest of the car intact, also cost was an issue!

Factory grey primer looks sound

The plan is to strip down to bare metal, scuff with Scotchbrite pads, apply 2k Epoxy primer, then seam sealer and finally Tetrosyl stonechip. After stripping an area using scraper and electric paint stripping gun i noticed that the factory applied grey primer was holding on well. Should i strip this off or leave intact and apply 2k epoxy over the top of it - time to consult the forum members!
